Our team is based out of Melbourne. Our munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives, and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world's most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. Being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.
Your role will involve implementing systems engineering and system safety frameworks across guided weapons projects, developing system and system safety requirements, conducting requirements analysis, hazard analysis, and supporting safety-in-design activities, developing and managing systems engineering artefacts, developing and managing system safety artefacts, supporting workshops, working groups, and design reviews, collaborating with teams on safe production processes, and working with customers, partners, and subcontractors to embed safety across the product lifecycle.
Your experience should include an engineering degree eligible for Engineers Australia membership, experience in system engineering and system safety, familiarity with defence systems engineering and systems safety standards, familiarity with SFARP, risk matrices, and hazard controls, familiarity with rapid prototyping processes and low-TRL products, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Defence industry experience is highly desirable.
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
