Intern Data Engineer

S3NS is born from the industrial partnership between Thales, a global leader in cyber security, and Google Cloud, a world leader in cloud solutions. Our ambition is to offer the best of both worlds to all organizations concerned with protecting their sensitive data (public institutions, IOV, OSE…). That is a solution equivalent to Google Cloud Platform (including both IaaS and PaaS services of GCP) and respecting the requirements of the SecNumCloud label.

A first offer, 'Local Controls with S3NS', has been available since February 2023 to allow our customers to benefit from an initial level of transparency and additional controls, and to accelerate the trajectory towards the trusted cloud.

As an Intern Data Engineer within the Customer Journey team, you will be at the heart of S3NS's data-driven strategy.

Your mission will be to build and automate the data platform that drives our business, from the ingestion of usage metrics to the billing chain (Billing), transforming raw streams into critical indicators to drive S3NS's activity.

By combining Data Engineering and SRE culture, you will ensure the reliability and scalability of our sovereign data pipelines.

Under the supervision of an experienced SRE mentor, you will contribute to the following missions:

• Automation of the Customer Journey: Develop and automate business workflows (provisioning, account management) using the Temporal orchestrator.
• Development of Tooling: Design internal tools in Go to improve the operational efficiency of the platform.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Participate in the deployment and configuration of the infrastructure via Terraform and packaging via NixOS.
• Observability: Set up dashboards and monitoring probes (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) to measure the health of the Customer Journey services (definition of SLO/SLI).
• Continuous Integration: Optimize CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and secure deployments.

You will work in a cutting-edge environment based on the Google Cloud stack and innovative open-source tools:

• Languages: Go (Golang), Python
• Orchestration: Kubernetes (K8s), Temporal.io.
• Infrastructure: Terraform, NixOS, PREMI3NS based on Google Cloud
• Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.
• CI/CD: Gitea, Woodpecker.
• Data: Big Query

Your Profile

Are you following a specialized bac+5 in Computer Science / Cloud and looking for an internship contract of 12 to 24 months?

You possess:

• A good mastery of Linux/Unix.
• A first experience or strong interest in programming (Go or Python).
• A curiosity for Infrastructure as Code and containerization concepts (Docker/K8s).
• The ability to solve complex problems.
