DevOps Engineer

We are now looking for a DevOps Engineer who will join an engineering support environment and work closely with Thales Norway's project and product environments to ensure controlled use of third-party components. The position involves consulting, tool responsibility, and further development of processes and instructions within this field.
Responsibilities and typical tasks:
In this position, you will be:
- Responsible for the software supply chain, including associated processes, tools, and methodology.
- Responsible for traceability of third-party components used in our development, including security and vulnerability management.
- You will advise development environments on the selection of third-party components.
- You will further develop and quality assure processes and instructions related to the use of third-party components in our projects and products.
- You will use tools for analysis and vulnerability assessment of third-party components and source code analysis/open source.
- Another part of the role is to understand license models in the context of third-party components and the consequences of using them.
- You will be responsible for the professional environment regarding the use of third-party components in product development.
- Depending on the background and wishes of the candidate themselves, tools for static code analysis may also become part of the responsibility in this position.
Some typical tasks will be:
- Analysis of third-party components
- Internal consultation and keeping up to date on license models for software
- Dialogue with users, which includes guidance and training for optimal use of third-party components and tools
You will be part of an engineering support team and report to the Engineering Manager.
Desired background and competence:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience after studies
- Relevant higher technical education (Bachelor or Master). Experience and results can compensate for lack of education
- Delivers high quality in an effective way
- Responsible, self-starting, and curious about new technology
- Good at collaborating, contributing to others' success, and motivated to build a professional environment
- Good written and oral presentation skills in both Norwegian and English
To be a current candidate for the position, you must be a Norwegian citizen and able to be security cleared and authorized for level SECRET and NATO SECRET with special instructions from the National Security Authority.
