DevOps Engineer

We are now looking for a DevOps Engineer who will join our company's dedicated engineering support team. The team is responsible for common support to our development projects and works closely with the project and product environments in Thales Norway. The position is suitable for those who thrive at the intersection of development, operations, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities and typical tasks include:
- Support our engineering environments with DevOps-related tasks and technical support
- Contribute to stable, effective, and secure development and delivery environments
- Solve technical problems in new ways and actively look for improvements in existing solutions
- Collaborate closely with the development team to understand needs and adapt tools and workflows
- Participate in the further development and operation of common engineering services and platforms
- Depending on background and interest, take responsibility for the operation and maintenance of selected DevOps and engineering tools
Some typical work tasks may include:
- Technical support and troubleshooting in development and build environments
- Contribution to the automation and improvement of workflows and tool chains
- Dialogue with developers and project teams, including guidance on the use of tools and solutions
- Documentation of solutions, routines, and best practices
You will become part of an engineering support team and report to the Engineering Support Manager.
Desired background and competence:
We are looking for someone who has an interest in the DevOps field and likes to work closely on both technology and people. You have an understanding of software development and want to contribute to providing the best possible framework conditions for development teams.
It is an advantage if you have:
- Some technical user experience with Linux and/or Windows
- Background from software development, or good knowledge of development processes
- Interest in the operation, automation, and improvement of technical solutions
- Experience with or curiosity about DevOps tools and working methods
Qualifications and characteristics:
- Advantageous with relevant work experience
- Relevant higher technical education (Bachelor or Master). Experience and results can compensate for lack of education. Relevant summer jobs or similar alongside studies are advantageous.
- Delivers high quality in an effective way
- Responsible, self-starting, and curious about new technology
- Good at collaborating, contributing to others' success, and motivated to build a professional environment
- Good written and oral presentation skills in both Norwegian and English

To be a current candidate for the position, you must be a Norwegian citizen and able to be security cleared and authorized for level SECRET and NATO SECRET with special instructions from the National Security Authority.
