The role is based at HMNB Clyde, Helensburgh, but the nature of supporting the RN can mean a requirement to travel, sometimes at short notice – both across the UK and occasionally overseas – which the successful candidate would be expected to support.

Experience:
Ideally you will have a track record of performing in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably dealing with Complex Systems (Electrical, Electronic and Hydraulic). You will have hands-on experience of dealing with technical issues, with demonstrable capability of resolving technical issues methodically. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels in spoken and written English. Your experience will demonstrate your high level of self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure are vital.

This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance. To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years' residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
