Senior Electrical Engineer
Thales is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Irvine, California. In this role, you will be a Member of the electrical/hardware design and development department: release of technical documentation of line replaceable units (LRU) and components through design reviews and qualification testing. You will be responsible to perform a subset of all the electrical design, development and test engineering activities required for HW solution/product. Participates in co-engineering activity with the HW, SW and System engineering teams. Support LRU development through initial manufacturing builds and mass production.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensures Electrical design HW Engineering activities are managed within constraints provided by the Project Engineer.
- Writes the technical specifications documents to make sure the electrical design meets the customer, manufacturing and system design requirements.
- Responsible for the completion of a set of engineering tasks within the committed cost, schedule, performance and quality.
- Ensure that electrical design engineering aspects of projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner and will integrate efforts from various functional groups to accomplish goals.
- Provides the technical interface to subcontractors and customers.
- Participates in design reviews with engineering team and manufacturing partners to confirm that electrical design parameters, cost and manufacturability requirements have been met.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in electrical embedded hardware design and troubleshooting for high speed digital and analog communications systems.
- Requires experience using schematic capture and layout viewer (ORCAD, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, PCAD, etc.)
- Knowledge of DO-160 FAA certification and OEM Linefit LRU qualification.
- Experience with FPGA/CPLD design concepts.
- Experience using digital test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, Emulator, Debuggers, etc.

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) 114,474.46 - 190,488.20 USD Annual.
