Thales Canada, Defence & Security is engaged in supporting the Canadian Army's Land Command, Control, Communications & Computers (C4) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (LC4ISR) systems which enable critical decisions on a daily basis. Thales Canada is looking for people interested in directly contributing to the evolution of advanced digitized operations for the Canadian Army into the future, both in Canada and on overseas deployments. The LC4ISR work is broadly divided into four areas, and this opportunity is with the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) group at our Ottawa office. We are looking for a systems engineer to lead and manage a team using agile methodologies. The system engineer will also be responsible to lead- test automation development for the STANAG 4586 (Standard Interfaces of UAV Control System (UCS) for NATO UAV Interoperability.
A systems engineer should be comfortable in multidisciplinary and collaborative environments, performing duties such as:
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the design and integration of complex systems in commercial and/or military domains.
Ability to obtain clearances as specified under the Regulatory Compliance section, below.
University or college degree in engineering or a related discipline.
In addition to the minimum professional experience specified above, experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
Minimal lifting of test and electronic equipment, connecting equipment in a lab environment or job site (including onboard vehicle or vessel).
40 hours per week
Hybrid position – a mix of working from home and onsite (Some on-site work required in the lab).
Possibility of occasional travel to customer site for technical support / integration activities. Possibility of occasional travel within Canada for planning events.
