Mechanical Engineer IV

Textron Systems is seeking a full time Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical design focused on military applications. The candidate should possess good communication and presentation skills and be comfortable interacting with suppliers within a multidiscipline team. The position requires experience integrating component design solutions into an overall assembly. This position requires that the candidate be a US citizen with or capable of receiving a secret level security clearance.

Responsibilities include participating in the detailed design of structural components, being a member of a team responsible for the development and design integration of mechanical components and systems, creation of Technical Data Packages that include 3D drawings, specifications and materials lists for component and assemblies of mechanical and electro-mechanical applications, preparing and directing high quality mechanical and electro-mechanical detail and assembly drawings, transitioning product design to production and test, writing technical and proposal documents, and creating detailed design reports and presentations to summarize design/analysis results.

Qualifications include being comfortable as a designer of mechanical components and systems subjected to extreme hypersonic flight conditions, demonstrated participation in a mechanical and structure design team activities leading to a qualified aeroshell design capable of reacting high loading and thermal gradient conditions, experience designing high temperature parts, skilled utilization of 3D digital manufacturing information to influence design definition options, ability to generate product performance specifications, mass property summary reports, and detailed design summary technical reports, proficiency in Siemen's Mechanical Design Manufacturing and Product Lifecycle Management Digital Integration Model, BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, 9 years of related experience, and possesses or has ability to obtain a Secret level security clearance.
