Wireless Communications Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Communications Engineer to design, implement, and optimize wireless networking solutions for humanoid robots operating in dynamic environments. This role focuses on enabling fully wireless operation of robotic systems, including onboard computing, remote emergency stop (E-Stop) functionality, and integration with corporate IT infrastructure—all while ensuring safety, reliability, and performance.
Wireless Configuration & Integration:
- Set up and configure wireless communication systems for humanoid robots (Config 2 – wireless operation).
- Ensure onboard computers operate independently without tethered PCs.
- Implement and troubleshoot wireless E-Stop systems (FORT safety system) within the same communication network.
Network Design & Optimization:
- Design and maintain IP-based wireless networks for robotic systems.
- Collaborate with corporate IT to align with security and compliance standards while maintaining operational independence.
- Configure IP protocols, manage network switching, and optimize connectivity for robotic platforms.
RF & Radio Link Engineering:
- Develop and optimize RF links between building infrastructure and robots.
- Characterize and improve antenna performance, signal strength, and error handling for robust wireless communication.
- Conduct performance testing and implement solutions for interference mitigation.
IoT & Remote Device Integration:
- Integrate robots into IoT ecosystems for remote monitoring and control.
- Design and test wireless modules, reception systems, and router configurations for reliable connectivity.
- Implement best practices for remote device networking and error recovery.
