Windows Engineer Opportunity

TEKsystems is looking for a highly skilled Windows Engineer to join our team and support a large-scale Data Center migration project. This position requires expertise in Windows Server lifecycle management, Active Directory administration, and PowerShell scripting within an enterprise environment.

Must work onsite 3 days per week in Austin, TX. Must work W2 (No Corp 2 Corp).

Top Skills

• 5–10+ years of experience as a Windows/Systems Engineer
• Expertise in Windows Server (2012–2022) lifecycle management
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and authentication protocols
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting
• Experience with DNS troubleshooting and management (Infoblox Gridmaster is a plus)
• Familiarity with ADCS PKI management

Job Description

• Manage Windows Server lifecycle (2012–2022), including template updates and new version deployments
• Administer Active Directory domains, Group Policies, and authentication methods (Kerberos, NTLM)
• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server and AD issues related to performance, connectivity, and authentication
• Implement security best practices, CIS hardening, and patch automation to ensure compliance
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell; experience with Ansible or Terraform is a plus
• Participate in on-call rotation supporting 10,000+ Windows servers and 15+ AD domains
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Work within Agile/Scrum framework using Jira and ServiceNow for task tracking and incident management

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $73.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
