General Description: Under the direction of the Assistant Park Superintendent and Lead Utility Plant Operator (UPO), this position performs highly complex (senior-level) construction, restoration, renovation, and maintenance work. Responsible for performing all phases of maintenance and repair to water and wastewater treatment systems, buildings, equipment, and associated grounds for Palo Duro Canyon State Park. This includes the water distribution and wastewater collection systems. Performs maintenance task with all types of equipment, including but not limited to: power mowers, electric/power tools, tractors, trucks, and other gasoline/diesel/electrical/manual-operated tools and equipment. Assists in all areas of utility plant operations. Ensures all Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) reports are prepared accurately and submitted on time. Advises park visitors of the rules and regulations of the park, provides customer services and issues permits. Performs additional duties as assigned. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
