Solutions Engineer / It Business Analyst

A leading Oil & Gas company in downtown Houston is seeking a Solutions Engineer / IT Business Analyst to join its Information Systems department. This role plays a critical part in the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise software solutions that drive downstream operations including inventory movement, contract management, and accounting analytics. The application provides strategic insights into third-party contracts and sales activities, supporting internal teams such as Marketing and Accounting, with potential visibility for Engineering divisions involved in transportation deals. This position offers a clear growth path toward becoming a Product Manager or Product Owner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the management and continuous improvement of a production-level enterprise application
• Translate complex business needs into clear technical requirements and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, developers, and business stakeholders
• Prototype and test new features and workflows to enhance user experience
• Support the full application lifecycle from concept to deployment and ongoing optimization

Location: Downtown Houston, TX

Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $60-$75/hr (based on experience)

Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain
• Foundational knowledge of SQL and ability to interpret relational data
• Understanding of marketing and supply chain operations within the Oil & Gas industry
• Proven experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement
• Experience working with Software Development groups
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with a passion for solving complex business challenges
• Python development skills
