ServiceNow Discovery Admin

The ServiceNow Discovery Admin / Implementation Specialist is responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing ServiceNow Discovery within client's ITOM Visibility framework. This role ensures accurate and efficient discovery of infrastructure and applications, supports CMDB health, and aligns with executive goals for operational excellence and audit compliance. In this role, you will:

Discovery Configuration & Management

  • Administer the Discovery Admin Workspace to monitor, track, and complete discovery tasks.
  • Configure Discovery schedules, MID Server settings, and probes/classifications to ensure comprehensive coverage of client's infrastructure.
  • Manage error tasks, ECC queue load visualizations, and diagnostic tools to proactively resolve issues.

CMDB & ITOM Integration

  • Create and maintain Configuration Items (CIs) and Application Services.
  • Collaborate with platform architects to align CMDB structure with CSDM 5.0 and enterprise architecture standards.

Operational Excellence

  • Generate and analyze on-demand reports and insights to optimize discovery operations.
  • Fine-tune MID Server configurations for performance and coverage.
  • Ensure all discovery activities are documented with an audit trail and align with client's executive goals and value creation strategy.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Work closely with product teams, platform owners, and executive stakeholders to ensure discovery aligns with business priorities.
  • Participate in ServiceNow upgrade readiness and delta certification reviews (e.g., Zurich release).
  • Maintain compliance with client's internal policies and licensing standards.

What you'll need to succeed (required skills):

  • 8+ hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB Workspace, and ITOM Visibility plugins.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification required; Delta certification for current release (e.g., Zurich) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of MID Server architecture, ECC queue, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with CMDB data modeling, CSDM alignment, and application service mapping.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, audit-driven environment.

Preferred skills: what will help you stand out:

  • Experience implementing Discovery in a multi-instance ServiceNow environment.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow platform architecture.
