This job is within the American Airlines Federal Credit Union. The role is responsible for maintaining IRA and Share Certificate products, balancing withholding and dividend activity, ensuring accurate tax reporting in compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing related support to branches and members.
What You'll Do
- Open and process transactions on IRAs, Regular Share Certificates and IRA Share Certificates ensuring accuracy and compliance with Credit Union policies and procedures
- Perform quality control of all related posted transactions and newly opened accounts
- Review daily/monthly reports for accuracy to ensure correct end of year reporting
- Maintain strong understanding and knowledge of IRA and Share Certificate products to effectively research and resolve inquiries from CU staff or members
- Handle high volume inbound ACD calls and occasional in-person interactions with members
- Review monthly member statements to confirm accuracy of deposit products
- Create files and process payments to beneficiaries on deceased IRA/ Share Certificate accounts
- Review tax reports to ensure accuracy and meet IRS/member tax reporting deadlines
- Conduct testing of departmental products and processes during system upgrades
- Assist with periodic review and updates of P&P
- Foster a culture that promotes teamwork, service excellence and relationship building within the team and across the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security and confidentiality of all account and related information which is part of their work and for ensuring that his/her work is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act.
All You'll Need For Success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- General understanding of financial institution deposit products and related member transactions
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
- Previous customer service experience
- Experience with Episys core processing system
- Working knowledge of IRA/Share Certificate products and processes
- Previous banking or Credit Union experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
- Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) gained through either work experience with the software or education and hands-on use of the software
- Ability to exercise excellent member service skills and professional telephone manner
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks and function as an integral part of a team
- Ability to interact professionally with all employees and members
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and members
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to self-motivate with strong organization skills and capacity for attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance
- Must pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks
