Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of vacuum equipment, components, and products. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements while applying advanced engineering principles to solve complex technical challenges and optimize designs. The role involves preparing detailed engineering documentation, procuring custom parts, and identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and performance enhancements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of vacuum equipment, components, and products.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Apply advanced engineering principles and methodologies to optimize designs.
• Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Procure fabrication of custom parts that meet specifications and are delivered on time.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and performance enhancements.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at operational excellence.

Essential Skills:

• 7+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience working in an advanced manufacturing or semiconductor environment.
• Proficient in FEA (Finite Element Analysis), DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Familiarity with vacuum equipment, components, and products.
• Project management experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience leading small projects or technical workstreams.
• Provides technical mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Participates in peer reviews and helps shape team development practices.

Work Environment:

This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while working or performing other office tasks. The ability to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment is necessary. Some light lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
