Human Resources Generalist

The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties on a professional level and works closely and supports the HR Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Human Resources Responsibilities:

  • Answer Human Resources incoming phone lines and assist employees with questions
  • Files personnel documents into appropriate files
  • Assist during Benefit Open Enrollment and assist with all employee events/functions; assists with audits of benefits or other HR programs
  • Monitors hourly employees' attendance for Absence Alerts and Perfect Attendance processing and assist all supervisors with problem solving eTime attendance issues
  • Assists with preparation of internal and external audits
  • Purges terminated personnel and training files as necessary
  • Coordinator of Document Control Storage Area Key
  • Assists in special projects as assigned by HR Manager
  • Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes in timely manner
  • Receives job applications and processes them to the appropriate supervisor for review if qualifications are met and assist with all aspects of pre-employment required documents and new hire orientations
  • Processes Personnel Action Notices and ensures proper approvals are obtained
  • Assists in recruitment and hiring process by coordinating job postings and reviewing resumes/applications
  • Schedules meetings and interviews as requested
  • Assists with all aspects of pre-employment for new hires
  • Prepares and obtains all documents required to place employees on payroll and establishes personnel file
  • Maintenance and verification of I-9 documentation
  • Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
  • Assists with processing of terminations
  • Coordinates employee events with committees members
  • Keeps updated with compliance of federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Assists in completing FMLA/STD paperwork
  • Assists in coordinating employee Wellness programs
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned
