Caregivers/CNA's- Immediate Openings

Senior Helpers is currently seeking Caregivers/CNA's to work in Corpus Christi. We have private duty work available throughout the area, servicing our clients 7 days a week 24 hours a day. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ADLs/IADL's
  • Transferring and positioning of the client
  • Incontinence Care
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Encouraging client Mobility

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must have 1 year of working with seniors in a professional setting
  • Age 18 and up due to bonding, etc.
  • Able to work 12-40 hours/week depending on client
  • Must be flexible in hours and able to work weekends, evening, etc.

Desired:

  • Experience with Alzheimer's and dementia preferred
  • Valid TDL Preferred
  • CPR Certification is a plus
  • Strong transfer techniques

The job description outlines your primary responsibilities as a caregiver. This description is not meant to be an exhaustive list of services, as the exact duties to be performed for each assignment will vary. Prior to beginning a new assignment, Senior Helpers will provide you with background information about your client and review special needs this client may have.

Objective: To provide professional caregiving services and to help clients maintain their independence and to assist them with the activities of daily living and household and family support services. Reports to: Care Team/Client Service Manager

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Household management
  • Walking assistance
  • Eating assistance
  • Errands
  • Transportation using clients vehicle or your vehicle
  • Meal planning and preparation
  • Laundry and linen changing
  • Bathing assistance
  • Dressing assistance
  • Toileting
  • Medication reminders
  • Monitor Alzheimer's and dementia clients
  • Overnight: Assist client to and from bed
  • Assist client throughout the night

Other Requirements:

  • Pass recurring 30-day skills assessment and client review with Client Services Manager (if required by state)
  • Document activities in the Care Plan Book daily
  • Record daily hours worked and daily services performed in Well Sky software or if turning in a Weekly timesheet and service log, must be turned in by 5pm, every Monday
  • Report any significant client changes to the office immediately
  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Senior Helpers employee handbook and training manual
