Group Sales Manager

Thompson Austin and Tommie Austin are in search of a dynamic and energetic Group Sales Manager. The right candidate is interested in a career in hospitality sales and thrives in a fast paced environment. The Group Sales Manager is a fully competent individual who has experience in the sales process and function of a hotel. This position will be complex between both hotels. The Group Sales Manager is a career sales professional and a top producer within hotel sales who has demonstrated through performance a commitment and expertise in direct sales.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Selling guest rooms, meeting space and other Hyatt services to customer groups, managing accounts, and conducting site inspections, solicits and generates business.
  • Preparing and presenting effective proposals
  • Maintaining well organized documentation and reports
  • Utilizes Hyatt systems and coordinates customer service requirements as appropriate.
  • Participate in sales meetings, banquet & event meetings, and other staff meetings.
  • Works as a team member with the sales and catering staff and is in close contact with assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.
  • Solicite, through direct sales and marketing contacts, the most complex accounts, which exhibit potential for business.

The hotels are anchored on the ground floor by The 5th Street Diner The Royale Room, a street side concept serving daily fare for locals, residents and guests alike. This mixed-use project will also feature a residential tower – Siena – and 10,000 square feet of retail space.

Qualifications: A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment. Refined verbal and written communication skills. A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales or comparable experience preferred. Must be proficient in general computer knowledge. Prefer completion of a Hyatt Corporate Management Training Program or equivalent training. Prefer selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training. Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized. Prefer two years hotel experience or completed Event Management trainee program.

Remote Qualifications

  • Same as those outlined above but also include the following:
  • May work on property in office twice a month
  • High Speed internet and personal phone
  • Ability to meet daily production metrics
  • 1-2 week training period on property
