Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Nurse Manager of Emergency Services to join a nationally recognized hospital team in Panama City, Florida. This leadership role supports a 44-bed Emergency Department handling an average of 140–180 patients daily and oversees a team of approximately 55 FTEs.
The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for emergency medicine, operational excellence, and staff development. You'll collaborate with department directors, clinical teams, and community partners to ensure efficient, compassionate, and safe emergency care.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate all aspects of daily Emergency Department operations during evening shifts.
- Supervise clinical staff and manage workflow to ensure timely, high-quality patient care.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and compliance with all regulatory and clinical standards.
- Lead initiatives that enhance patient experience, safety, and throughput metrics.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship of nursing personnel.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement projects.
- Collaborate with physicians, ancillary departments, and leadership teams to optimize outcomes.
- Ensure equipment, supplies, and facilities are maintained to readiness standards.
- Serve as a departmental representative on hospital committees and community outreach efforts.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current RN license in Florida (or Compact State, with Florida endorsement within 90 days)
- Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing; BSN enrollment required
- Minimum 3–5 years of recent acute care leadership experience in Emergency Services
- Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Leadership
- Advanced certification in emergency or trauma nursing (CEN, TNCC, or equivalent)
