Job Description

The Advancement Services Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and daily operations of advancement services in support of the Texas A&M University– San Antonio and the A&M-San Antonio Foundation. This position ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of donor and gift data, and leads all functions related to database administration, gift processing, receipting, acknowledgements, and gift reconciliation. Reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, the Advancement Services Manager supervises the Advancement Services Coordinator and serves as the primary liaison between Advancement, the Foundation, and the University's Division of Finance and Administration to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment with standard business hours; occasional extended hours may be required during peak periods or campaigns.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in related field.
  • Five (5) years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in advancement services, nonprofit operations, or database administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT (or similar CRM).
  • Experience with financial reconciliation and working with accounting teams.
  • Experience in higher education advancement or foundation operations.
  • Experience supervising staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of gift processing, receipting, and donor database management.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to customer service and continuous improvement.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and data integrity.
  • Familiarity with CASE reporting standards and IRS regulations related to charitable giving.
