Job Summary and Qualifications

The PI Surgical Services Specialist supports the strategic and analytical agenda for Performance Improvement (PI) Surgical Services to drive improvement of the overall clinical quality, growth, healthcare value and efficiency, service, and satisfaction. The Specialist plays a key support role in implementing best practices, optimizing resources, and driving measurable improvements in surgical services.

Responsibilities include: supporting performance improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost; driving initiatives for improvement and/or growth across volume/financial measures, market development, program development, physician development, clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and other areas; supporting measurable improvement across service lines by meeting volume, staffing, and financial target through development and implementation of operational dashboards of key clinical, operational, and financial indicators; supporting the design, development, implementation, and presentation of the Monthly Operating Review (MOR), Mid-Year Review, Business Plan and all other dedicated, relevant Surgical presentations; supporting the integration of the Surgery structural and execution model across markets; developing and implementing policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with all legal/regulatory standards; responsible for Surgical operational assessments in collaboration with performance improvement and introducing approved standards and guidelines; contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support Surgical services and the patient experience; serving as a resource for Surgical Services; collaborating with Care Assure, ITS&S, CSG, S&I, PSF, HT/SC, HRI and aligning on departmental priorities; leading service line strategic planning and business development; identifying stakeholder engagement strategies, new service offerings, technology advances, and other opportunities to drive differentiation and support the growth agenda; collaborating and developing national and practice level physicians to enhance existing services and engagement; evaluating financial performance, identifying trends, and evaluating variances in relation to established budget; and leveraging historical data and insights to inform decision making for cost effective clinical resource management, reduction of variable costs, and enhancement of clinical effectiveness.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, relative work experience may substitute for other degrees, 2-4 years of experience in a healthcare-related field, and experience within healthcare operations, based in Nashville, Tennessee, supporting a variety of corporate roles from business operations to administrative positions.
