Logistics Specialist Opportunity In Nashville

Our Transportation Operations in Nashville is seeking highly skilled and motivated Logistics Specialists to assist in managing daily freight movements flowing into and out of our North American fulfillment centers and our associated fulfillment network. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team in a huge growth area. An ideal candidate should possess excellent customer service skills. He/she has the ability to coordinate between multiple parties to ensure high levels of customer service. This job requires exceptional communication skills and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment.

Skills: Customer service, operations, Excel, MS Office Suite, logistics, transportation, intermodal, supply chain, freight, and dispatch.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Maintain consistent and strategic communication and account management with external customers, including carriers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Retrieve data from various databases (using tools like Excel, Access, SQL, and other data management systems) and perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • Review data and reports related to appointment and arrival times, making informed business decisions and process improvements based on the reported data.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as you will need to create narratives that summarize your weekly findings and variances from goals, and present these findings in review forums.
  • Operate within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying the activities performed.
  • Lead initiatives to re-engineer business processes and identify and eliminate root causes of defects to drive efficiency in Amazon's transportation operations.
  • Systematically escalate problems or discrepancies in information and data to the appropriate owners and teams, ensuring follow-through on resolutions to achieve delivery.
  • Develop performance metrics to help drive business results.
  • Define business and functional requirements for the Amazon tech teams responsible for creating and enhancing the software systems and tools we use.
  • Quickly understand the business impact of trends and make informed decisions based on the available data.
  • Experience in transportation and logistics is a plus, but not required. However, candidates must have experience in customer service, particularly in de-escalating conflicts and problem-solving. This includes managing customer accounts, resolving conflicts, and handling escalated calls.
  • Analytical skills are also beneficial, as long as candidates are comfortable taking calls. Being able to gather and analyze information from various sources to resolve issues will be helpful in this role.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
