You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Site Reliability Engineering, Enterprise Security, and IT Operations to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant observability capabilities. While Splunk expertise is required, this role also requires a broader engineering mindset focused on automation, integration, and innovation in observability tooling. Experience with AI/ML-driven analytics and modern cloud platforms (MCPs) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and enhance Splunk Cloud Platform, including hands-on configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Design and implement observability solutions using modern engineering practices and observability technologies.
  • Develop and maintain integrations across observability platforms (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry).
  • Lead data onboarding strategies including log aggregation, metric instrumentation, and trace correlation.
  • Build and optimize dashboards, alerts, and analytics to support proactive monitoring and incident response.
  • Collaborate with platform teams to ensure observability is embedded across CI/CD pipelines and production workloads.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and enterprise change management processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the organization.
  • Required Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree and 7+ years of software engineering experience (or 10+ years in lieu of a degree).
    • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing observability solutions, metrics, events, logs and traces.
    • 2+ years' experience integrating AI/ML models into operational or observability workflows.
    • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
    • Experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
    • Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and telemetry pipelines.
    • Familiarity with log parsing, normalization, and alignment to data models (e.g., Splunk CIM).
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
    • Proven ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Splunk Certified Core Power User or Enterprise Admin.
    • Experience with Splunk SOAR, ITSI, or similar automation platforms.
    • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
    • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and SRE principles.

    Additional Information:

    • Solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes.
    • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
