Azure DevOps Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with strong Terraform infrastructure-as-code expertise and a deep understanding of modern Azure governance and automation practices. This role will strengthen CPPA's DevOps maturity by expanding infrastructure automation, improving cost optimization (FinOps), and enabling secure, repeatable cloud operations. The engineer will collaborate across infrastructure, application, and security teams to design and maintain scalable, compliant, and automated Azure environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and YAML-based workflows integrating build, test, security, and deployment stages.
  • Develop and maintain Terraform modules and reusable templates for provisioning Azure resources aligned with Landing Zone architecture, Policy enforcement, and governance standards.
  • Enhance automation through scripting (PowerShell, Python) and integration with Azure Automation Accounts, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions.
  • Implement security and compliance controls using Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud, and Entra ID Conditional Access.
  • Collaborate with network, identity, and application teams to standardize Azure environments across multiple subscriptions and environments (prod/dev/test).
  • Support FinOps and cost optimization efforts via tagging, automation, and budget alerting.
  • Integrate observability and monitoring using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
  • Contribute to Power Platform solutions, including PowerApps, Power Automate, and Dataverse integration.
  • Partner with infrastructure and security teams on RBAC, Managed Identities, and just-in-time access models.
  • Drive process improvement through documentation, knowledge sharing, and DevSecOps best practices.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. Skills and Requirements:

  • 4–6+ years' experience in Azure DevOps, Terraform (IAC biggest gaps), and Azure infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with pipeline-based automation (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and governance enforcement.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python for automation and integration tasks.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, storage, compute, and identity services (e.g., vNets, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults, App Services, AVD (log into enviroment), DNS).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Policies, Terraform IaC, and Git repository management.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and optimize FinOps practices within Azure environments.
  • Strong documentation, collaboration, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container-based deployment models.
  • Understanding of automation pipelines involving Azure DevOps, Power Platform, or Azure Automation.
  • Familiarity with Defender XDR, Microsoft Sentinel, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2).

SECURITY PERSPECTIVE:

  • Experience deploying and managing Azure Landing Zones and cross-subscription governance frameworks.
  • Exposure to Wiz.io, Endpoint Management, and hybrid AD integration.
