Skills Required: Critical facility electrical engineering. Change management of the critical infrastructure to maintain customer uptime. Design electrical equipment including sizing switchgear PDU's, power panels, busways, cables, circuit breakers, diesel generators, UPS and batteries. Electrical load distribution and balancing the loads to avoid oversubscribing and failing of the equipment. Critical theory and practical application of critical electrical equipment including paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, and standby diesel generators. Maintenance operation of critical electrical equipment including paralleling switchgear, redundant UPS systems, DC battery strings, multi-source electrical utility switchgear, and standby diesel generators. Construction techniques, terminology, and documentation including the ability to interpret blueprints, electrical SLDs, mechanical SLDs and construction drawings. Load flow, Short Circuit, TCC coordination studies in ETAP or SKM or relevant software to confirm the design and operational requirements of the electrical system. Software tools; SKM, ETAP, Bluebeam, MicroStation, and Microsoft office tools.
Responsibilities: Reviewing new sites and proposed fit out designs. Ensuring striping plans are accurate, fail-over design are compliant. Developing digitized electrical models. Supporting supplier whitespace fit-out. Ensuring documentation is captured, stored, referenced and shared with field engineering and operation teams. Supporting engineering investigations into large scale events. Supporting field engineering teams.
Qualifications: BS Electrical, Industrial or Process Engineering. 7+ years of experience in defining, designing, and operating data center critical infrastructure. Demonstrated record of innovation and influence with the data center space. Demonstrated record of successful process definition and systems architecture. Demonstrated record of successful infrastructure roadmap planning. Deep understanding of data center electrical systems architecture.
