Responsible for directing and managing JOEM sales team to achieve revenue and profit goals. Designs and recommends sales programs and establishes short and long-term sales strategies in NA for the JOEM. Provides management with key JOEM sales information.
Establish sales objectives for NA JOEM team. Develop and maintain JOEM sales forecast for current and future years which align with overall NA sales strategy.
Make sales calls on selected key accounts, both Japanese OEM and Tier 1 & 2 supplier levels.
Promote sales of product line by solicitation at the Design Engineering level focused on Japanese nationals with limited English skills.
Analyze current and emerging JOEM market trends to maintain competitiveness while meeting internal sales goals. Align our product strategy with customer and market.
Product presentations to Engineering, Purchasing, and Materials Departments.
Build sales volume of existing products and search for new opportunities on design variations or new products utilizing our textile or thermoplastic technology.
Work closely with customer and internal engineering to recommend product enhancements or iterations to improve customer satisfaction and increase sales potential.
Thorough technical understanding of product line and process capabilities to recommend solutions to the customer.
Support sales effort by providing samples, data, pricing, and product application information.
Participates in product/marketing strategies, trade shows & new product development.
Data analysis and reporting preparation and presentation to sales director and management team.
Communicate and coordinate sales efforts with offices in Japan.
Cross department communication internally with Customer Service, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance.
Manage, develop and motivate NA JOEM sales team to develop their skills to a high professional standard to achieve monthly and annual sales targets and KPIs.
B.S. degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience working with and calling on Japanese accounts. Preferred minimum of 3-5 of the 7 years working in Japan with customers. Required to be proficient in Japanese and English language skills, both written and spoken.
Proven record to deliver profitable bookings YOY with the NA JOEMs. Must have a minimum 10 years of Sales experience with the Automotive Industry both at an OEM and Tier Level. Preferred 5 years of sales experience with Yazaki, TG, SEWS, Denso, Furukawa, Fujikura, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda. Experience working with strategic planning, product positioning, competitive analysis, and revenue improvement required.
Must be proactive, innovative and a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels within the organization. Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to solve customer problems. Proven ability to present successfully to customers, both internal and external. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience negotiating with the customer for contracts and programs. Must be able to travel as needed. Preferred sales experience within Systems Protection sales organization. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Automotive protective textile market.
