The Buyer/Pharmacy is responsible for providing relationship management for suppliers and collaborates with vendors to maintain a safe and effective supply chain for pharmaceuticals and related products. They oversee all purchasing and receiving and approved pharmaceuticals and related supplies, contract compliance, and inventory management. They are the key point of contact for all pharmaceutical and related supply directives. Provides routine financial operating information and assists with purchasing related cost/product analysis. Oversees the appropriate storage of medications as determined by the manufacturer, regulatory agencies and/or federal, state or local laws, regulations or standards. Oversees the disposition process for all expired or damaged pharmaceuticals. Oversees the twice yearly pharmaceutical inventory. Performs functions utilizing appropriate technology. This integrated position holds responsibility for pharmaceutical purchasing at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Jeanes campus.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required. Associate's Degree Business or Healthcare related field Preferred. Experience: 2 years experience as a hospital pharmacy technician or equivalent Required. 5 years experience as a pharmaceutical purchaser Preferred. Licenses: Certified Pharmacy Technician Preferred.
