The oncology social worker provides services to cancer survivors, families, and caregivers through clinical practice providing comprehensive psychosocial services and programs through all phases of the cancer experience. Psychosocial support services are to facilitate patient and family adjustment to illness utilizing knowledge of the psychosocial impact of disease on individuals and families as it relates to their age, stage of development, culture, physical and psychosocial competence. Provide individual and group counseling and advocacy services and works collaboratively with the health care team. Must obtain PA Social Worker License within 2 years of hire. Must obtain Oncology Social Work Certification within 4 years of hire.
Education: Master's Degree Accredited School of Social Work Required
Experience: 2 years experience working as a social worker in an outpatient oncology setting or equivalent if oncology related responsibilities and experience is demonstrated Required
Licenses: PA Clinical Social Worker Lic Required or PA Social Worker License Required Oncology Social Worker Cert Required
