Coordinates patient intake from all points of entry (Emergency Department, In-Patient Unit, physician office, clinic, etc.), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Collaborates with appropriate hospital staff and departments to assure quality, timely, cost efficient transfer and placement into the most appropriate level of care. Dispatches requests for transport services in accordance with established dispatch protocols and Health System philosophy. Serves as clinical resource for Mission Support Coordinator(s).
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Associate's Degree Preferred
Experience
1 year experience in a clinical setting, 911 service or inter facility transport with thorough knowledge of theories, principles and concepts related to emergency medical services and/or healthcare OR experience as a Registered Nurse, may be a graduate nurse in a hospital setting. Required
