Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead sub-contractor technicians in the equipment survey and installation at customer locations throughout the United States.
  • Navigate data sets to track equipment acquisition and availability
  • Conduct network discovery to determine equipment needs at customer sites.
  • Perform hands-on configuration of wired infrastructure including switches and wireless access points across multiple manufacturers (Meraki a Must, Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, or others as assigned).
  • Manage network cutovers between legacy and new infrastructure following an established procedure.
  • Ensuring documentation is disseminated from the technicians and provided to the customer in a timely and professional manner
  • Open DTAC trouble tickets with AT&T when the TTU is not able to be completed due to a down circuit
  • Complete circuit test and turn up procedures remotely.
  • Troubleshoot customer network connectivity issues as assigned.
  • Develop/update procedures relevant to BU11 projects/programs.
  • Ability to work both within a team and individually with minimal supervision.
  • Manage communications between our team and the field technicians.
  • Take direction from, and provide updates to, the program leadership team.
  • Maintain accountability of assigned equipment.
  • Complete reports and other project documents in a professional, timely manner, as required.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in LAN/WLAN networking
  • Familiarity with Juniper, Cisco, and Aruba equipment
  • Familiarity with network design and implementation methodology and concepts.
  • Highly motivated, self-learner, and technically inquisitive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience leading or supporting teams, projects, and programs.
  • IT certifications (IATII) or vendor specific certifications from Juniper, Cisco, and/or Aruba relevant to the role are preferred.
  • A degree in IT, computer science, business management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to split time between working remotely and onsite at customer locations as dictated by program requirements.
  • RF survey experience preferred
  • ACAS knowledge a bonus
  • Position begins 4/1/26 and ends 10/1/26
  • Must successfully pass drug screening

Overview

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the USDA Forest Service Program.

In this role, you will be supporting multiple surveys, installations, and the managed service of all forest service sites across the nation. Tasks may include, but not limited to, conducting remote circuit test and turn-ups, serving as the site lead during new equipment installations, performing remote configuration and troubleshooting on customer networks, orchestrating network cutover activities, and/or completing on-site surveys as necessary but more often leading a team of on-site sub-contractor technicians in the completion of these survey and installations form a remote location
