Job Overview

We are looking for a Product Certification Expert to handle all the world-wide certifications (UL/CSA/VDE/TUV/IEC CB, etc.) for various product families in TE Connected Living Solutions Business Unit.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities include:

• Business Unit PoC for product approvals & certification activities globally.
• Act as a project manager, being diligent, methodical, and organized in carrying out agency approval activities.
• Possess excellent knowledge and understanding of agency technical reports, test reports, specifications, and procedures.
• Spearhead continuous improvement activities, including 5S and Kaizen events, to drive lean processes and cost-saving initiatives.
• Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance to internal teams on the interpretation of technical/standard requirements as per standards, country regulations, and agency requirements.
• Coordinate with testing/certification agencies, track projects, and ensure timely closure of all regulatory approval activities for existing, modified, and new products.
• Monitor evolving standards, review products, and advise engineers to ensure product compliance.
• Establish and maintain reliable records of the approval process and ensure accurate product certification information is maintained in TE systems.
• Resolve follow-up services and inspector variation notices from agencies, including plant "shutdowns."
• Conduct training sessions on agency requirements and standards for internal teams.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously, driving project completion while managing multiple stakeholders.
• Interact effectively with global stakeholders (PM, Sales, etc.) and directly with customers, communicating technical details clearly.
• Drive cost reduction and cost-avoidance initiatives within product certification projects to achieve defined targets.
• Act as a technical expert within the agency approval team, ensuring technical quality and promoting best practices.
• Assist the Product Approval Manager in managing certification projects to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Support the manager in maintaining the BU product approval management platform (quality/procedure documents, knowledge sharing, lessons learned, best practices, etc.).

What Your Background Should Look Like

Requirements include:

• 8+ years of experience in Product Safety Certification Domain
• BE/B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance processes for electrical safety products and standards (components and end-products)
• Experience with standards: UL1977/CSA Std. C22.2 No. 182.3, UL310/CSA Std. C22.2 No. 153, ANSI C136.41/UL 773, UL 2237/2238, UL486, IEC 61984, IEC 60335, IEC 61210
• Strong understanding of:
