Eng & Tech - Manufacturing & Process Dev Engineering
Designs and implements manufacturing techniques, processes, tools, and machinery to maximize throughput; researches on products and processes to optimize efficiency.
Job Duties
Responsible for connector stamping tool design and development, support new product development.
Own DFM, PFMEA to optimize product design, process design, tooling design and cost, Realizes tooling and product samples optimization.
Ensure stamping tool and processes are designed to produce high quality products efficiently at the lowest possible cost.
Provide stamping tool cost estimations for new tooling or processes.
Ensure projects are completed on time and transfer to mass production based on First Article Approval completed with documentation.
Travel to suppliers/plants for on-site support /fine-tuning or project release.
Analyze the problems encountered during sampling and perform stamping tool debugging and improvement plans.
Good communication skill. Ability to guide stamping technician to complete stamping tool assembly and debugging.
What Your Background Should Look Like
Bachelor of Science or above degree and engineering background.
More than 8 years stamping tool design, process and troubleshooting knowledge / experience, it is better to have high precision connector stamping tool design experience.
Strong knowledge of tool fabrication, tool-steel application/selection, heat treating, and plating/coating.
Strong knowledge of high speed stamping processes (Blanking, Bending, Coining, Forming, etc.).
Strong understanding of metal raw material, press machine, auxiliary equipment (Material feeder, Reeling M/C, etc.).
Understand tolerance calculations and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
Good English communication skill – reading, written and spoken.
