Principal Planning Engineer

We are currently seeking a Principal Planning Engineer, reporting directly to the Head of the Department to join our team based in UAE, Abu Dhabi.

The Principal Planning Engineer provides expert-level planning and scheduling leadership for complex offshore projects. The role is responsible for establishing planning strategy, governing schedule standards, and supporting senior management in critical project decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead planning and scheduling strategy across major offshore project scopes.
• Oversee development, integration, and control of master schedules.
• Review project performance, trends, and schedule risk exposure.
• Provide expert guidance on recovery plans, delays, and schedule impacts.
• Support project leadership in milestone planning, forecasting, and decision support.
• Review contractor schedules, claims, and interface impacts at a senior level.
• Ensure planning procedures, reporting standards, and controls are effectively implemented.
• Coach and support planning teams across projects.

Experience required:

• 18+ years of experience in project planning and controls.
• Extensive offshore project experience is mandatory.
• Strong experience in leading complex, multi-disciplinary project schedules.

Required skills:

• Expert-level Primavera P6 knowledge.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Deep understanding of project controls, claims, and delay analysis.
• Excellent communication and executive reporting skills.
