Development Engineer

Join us at DTU Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, where you'll be at the forefront of developing innovative carbon capture and utilization technologies. We are looking for a part-time consultant who will play a pivotal role in identifying and mapping international public funding opportunities. The ideal candidate will be adept at building consortiums and networks to apply for these grants. Additionally, the consultant will support the development of grant applications and, upon successful acquisition of funding, will assist in the initial technical development of the project, ensuring the right team and technological resources are assigned for a successful project execution.

Your responsibilities as a development engineer include:

  • Mapping Funding Opportunities: Identify and analyze international public funding opportunities relevant to decarbonization, CCUS, and related clean energy technologies such as Power-to-X (P2X).
  • Building Consortiums: Establish and maintain networks and consortiums to enhance our chances of securing grants.
  • Grant Application Development: Collaborate with our team to develop compelling and competitive grant applications to grant programs such as Horizon Europe, LIFE, CETPartnership or others depending on availability and relevance.
  • Project Support: Provide technical support during the initial stages of funded projects to ensure a smooth transition from the planning phase into the execution phase of the project tasks of DTU KT
  • Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to stay updated with funding opportunities, partner networks, and ongoing projects. Technical support throughout the execution of the projects will likely be needed too.

Our expectations of you:

  • Proven experience in identifying and securing international public funding.
  • Strong network-building skills and experience in forming consortiums.
  • Excellent grant writing and application development skills.
  • Technical expertise in decarbonization, CCUS, and related clean energy technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Advanced engineering and problem-solving skills in terms of commissioning and troubleshooting CCUS pilot plants and various equipment used for such installations

Salary and appointment terms The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). You are employed as an Academic Officer, Senior Officer, Senior Executive Officer. The position is a 2-year part time position (5-10 hours per week). Starting date will be according to mutual agreement.
