Group Manager, Global Equity Derivatives Structured Notes

The Group Manager leads a team of Operational Analysts within the Global Equity Derivatives Structured Notes business unit. This role provides leadership, coaching, and development to enable both operational results and the professional growth of the team. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Group Manager drives operational excellence, fosters collaboration, and ensures alignment with business and enterprise goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in delivering high-quality operational support to assigned business areas.
  • Anticipate and respond to changes in the business environment with clear action plans.
  • Serve as a department-level liaison, actively engaging internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and sustain strong business partnerships; clarify client needs and deliver client-focused solutions.
  • Act as a secondary escalation point for significant risks, exceptions, or complex issues.
  • Monitor service and control standards, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide frontline feedback to inform client strategy, process improvement, and pain-point resolution.
  • Negotiate and resolve escalated or complex matters.
  • Foster a client-centric, collaborative, and innovative team culture.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with system support to design, test, and implement upgrades.
  • Conduct root cause analyses; recommend and escalate solutions as appropriate.
  • Contribute to business planning and operationalize assigned services or functions.
  • Protect organizational interests by assessing risks and resolving escalated matters.
  • Coordinate new processes and system implementations with thorough documentation.
  • Leverage knowledge of end-to-end processes and regulatory requirements to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Lead or support change management and process improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Technology, Finance, and Risk to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, projects, and cross-functional working groups.
  • Serve as a change agent by defining frameworks and reinforcing adoption.
  • Uphold enterprise frameworks such as Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Business Continuity Management (BCM).
  • Participate in community and enterprise initiatives, promoting TD's values.
  • Measure performance using analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day guidance, ensuring service requests and operational issues are resolved within standards.
  • Set clear performance objectives, monitor progress, and address gaps or reward strong performance.
  • Recruit and develop a diverse, skilled workforce aligned to business needs.
  • Create a dynamic and engaging work environment consistent with TD's Employee Value Proposition.
  • Build team expertise to meet both immediate and future business needs.
  • Provide coaching, regular feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Encourage collaboration across teams and open communication of issues.

  • Actively support change through transparent communication and positive reinforcement.
  • Lead with a 'One Team' mindset, promoting shared accountability.
  • Provides full people management leadership, including recruitment, goal setting, performance management, compensation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Leads teams managing processes and transactions of varying scope, complexity, and volume.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of business, operational functions, and risk management.
  • Focuses on medium-term objectives with limited strategic planning responsibilities.
  • Exercises judgment in resolving complex, risk-sensitive issues impacting significant parts of the business.
  • Serves as escalation contact for internal groups, partners, and customers.
  • Maintains strong relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Reports directly to a Senior Manager.
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in people leadership.
