As an IT Field Technician, you will be the hands and feet of our company, dealing with all parts of the business. You will be required to learn and connect devices throughout the business and work closely with all our IT departments to ensure we're adhering to best practices. One main task will include supporting our IT Infrastructure Network systems and hardware and our Milestone CCTV system.

This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Friday. There is a requirement to work our on call roster. You will be on call for two weeks at a time, 3 to 4 times a year.

Responsibilities:

  • Device connectivity: Install and connect devices throughout the business, ensuring seamless integration and functionality enabling our BlueAg tech solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Technology Team and the broader Business units to support various IT solutions.
  • CCTV support: Provide support for our 500+ CCTV system - Milestone, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Best practices: Ensure adherence to best practices and established frameworks in all tasks delivering quality outcomes.
  • Support services: Provide support services within a service team environment, ensuring swift resolution of complex issues.
  • Hardware replacement and installation: Perform hands-on replacement, installation, and troubleshooting of IT hardware—including cameras (CCTV), wireless access points, and related network devices—across various business sites. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Adaptability: Adapt to various environments, from offices to heavy works vessels, and address issues proactively.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and device connectivity.
  • Experience with CCTV systems, particularly Milestone, is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different IT departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and environments.
  • Ability to independently perform hands-on installation, replacement, and basic troubleshooting of IT hardware (e.g., cameras, wireless access points, and network devices) across diverse business sites
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between sites as required.
  • Commitment to safety, including the ability to work safely at heights and follow all relevant safety procedures and regulations

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar technology-based role, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent technical capabilities.
  • Proficient in the use of professional-grade tools and equipment, including power drills, network cable testers, and other diagnostic or installation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with the installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of IT hardware such as cameras, wireless access points, and network devices is highly regarded.
  • Experience working safely at heights and in compliance with relevant safety standards is desirable.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems (especially Milestone) and basic network troubleshooting is an advantage.
