Human Resources Process Team Leader

The pay range per hour is $21.25 - $36.15. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.   • Planning HR department daily/weekly workload to support HR business priorities
  • Reading financial reporting and interpreting data
  • Federal, state and local employment laws
  • Recruiting and event organization
  • Microsoft Office Suite computer and workforce management programs
  • Effectively using scheduling software
  • Leading a team of hourly HR experts; including skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent

As a Human Resources Process Team Leader, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all Target practices as outlined with team onboarding, learning and career growth; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions.
  • Support leaders in creating and prioritizing an environment of inclusivity where teams value diverse voices and approaches, are authentic and respectful, and create equitable experiences.
  • Promote a strong training culture, including compliance training, by supporting the planning, tracking and validating the training for team members.
  • With guidance from store leaders, implement a schedule that meets the needs of both guests and team members.
  • With guidance from Human Resource leader, plan recruiting and staffing efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates with the right skills and experiences to best serve their guests.
  • Be approachable and available for the team, lead a culture where team members feel heard and issues are quickly resolved, collaborate with appropriate leaders to take action as needed.
  • Deliver on all Human Resource processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption all while guiding leaders to make informed decisions for their teams.
  • Deliver a comprehensive orientation experience for new team members (including third party vendors) to enable them to provide service and a shopping experience the meets the needs of the guest.
  • With guidance from your direct leader, execute the store staffing strategy and implement recruiting efforts to help store leaders find, hire and onboard candidates with the right skills and experiences for their team.
  • Understand and reinforce store specific employment laws and policies.
  • Provide support for staffing systems, scheduling systems and pay practices.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable to those expectations.
  • Understand financial objectives to maximize profitability and plan work to achieve area-specific and store goals. Model creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you and your team are completing daily tasks.
  • Demonstrate how to engage with guests when assistance is needed, engage with guest in a welcoming way, and help solve their specific needs.
  • Lead by thanking guests and let them know we're happy they chose to shop at Target.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding team accountable to following safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting/investigating injuries timely and accurately.
  • Model the execution of physical security processes in order to enhance the instore security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the total store; including ordering, storage and application as directed by best practices.
  • Address all store emergency and compliance needs including claims management and return-to-work program.
  • All other duties based on business needs.

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Human Resources Process Team Leader, but there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:

  • Previous experience using automated scheduling, time keeping and workforce management applications preferred, but not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis, decision making, financial and quantitative analysis
  • Lead and hold others accountable
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude towards all guests and other team members
  • Effective communication skills

  • Frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds, without additional assistance from other.
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary.
