Your new challenge as a Mechanical Engineer

Do you have a sharp technical eye, experience with mechanical engineering designs and are you ready to lead projects yourself? Then we have the perfect challenge for you! As a Mechanical Engineer at Qemetica in Farmsum, you will be responsible for designing, developing and improving mechanical installations and systems.

You will work on various technical projects within our silica production factory, a modern and growing production environment with a strong focus on safety, reliability and innovation. You will work daily with colleagues from different disciplines and ensure that designs not only make sense on paper, but also in practice.

Your Responsibilities

• Designing and developing mechanical components and piping systems according to technical specifications and applicable standards (such as NEN, ASME, EN)
• Creating and modifying technical drawings and schematics with AutoCAD, Plant-3D, Inventor and Vault
• Performing technical calculations and analyses to substantiate designs
• Leading small projects: from planning to completion, including coordination and reporting
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and internal customers
• Identifying and implementing improvements in existing designs and processes
• Ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards within projects

Required Skills

• HBO work and thinking level, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Approximately 5 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, preferably in the chemical or process industry
• Experience with AutoCAD, Plant-3D, Inventor and Vault
• Experience leading small projects and creating technical plans
• Knowledge of materials, production methods and mechanical principles
• Analytical ability, accuracy and a solution-oriented approach
• Good communication skills and team orientation
• Proactive and independent working style
• Good command of the Dutch language, preferably also English
