Join MAXAM, a global leader in blasting solutions, as a Mining Engineer. This role is based in Madrid, Spain, and is field-based. The contract type is full-time (40 hrs/wk) and the experience level required is senior.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a zero-harm culture and ensure a safe, healthy, and sustainable work environment.

• Ensure compliance with MAXAM and client safety, quality, and environmental standards.

• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and training programs for staff, contractors, and clients.

• Identify hazards and improvement opportunities, and ensure non-recurrence of incidents.

People Management & Leadership

• Lead site teams with accountability and motivation, managing performance and development.

• Develop talent in key areas such as Project Management, HSE, TAP, and Maintenance.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure project KPIs are met through continuous monitoring and reporting.

• Implement standardized processes and best practices across operations.

• Manage CAPEX and resources within budget.

• Support the transition from business development to operations and implement TAP services.

• Ensure maintenance programs and quality controls are executed effectively.

Financial Management

• Own the P&L of assigned projects and drive profitability improvements.

• Implement financial control processes and monitor efficiency initiatives.

• Ensure DSO ratios are met and financial reporting is timely and accurate.

Forecasting & Inventory

• Plan and control inventory levels, ensuring minimum stock and quality of raw materials.

• Maintain accurate short- and medium-term production forecasts.

Customer & Contract Management

• Act as the main point of contact for clients, managing contractual obligations and service delivery.

• Ensure contract terms are followed and objectives are met within agreed timeframes.

Technical & Operational Improvement

• Lead productivity and innovation initiatives to enhance value for MAXAM and clients.

• Introduce new products and technologies, and provide training on their application.

• Optimize drilling and blasting practices in collaboration with clients.

What We're Looking For:

• An experienced Engineer (Mining, Construction) with knowledge of Drill & Blast Operations.

• Solid experience in project and team management within mining environments.

• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
