Synthego is seeking a skilled and forward-thinking IT Systems Engineer to help design, implement, and optimize the technology foundation that powers groundbreaking CRISPR research. What You'll Do:

• Design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable IT solutions across a modern SaaS-first environment.
• Lead projects that align technology with business outcomes, improving efficiency, collaboration, and security.
• Administer and enhance critical platforms including Microsoft 365, Okta, AWS, Slack, and AI-enabled tools.
• Manage and support core network and security infrastructure such as Fortigate firewalls, Meraki networking, and VPN services.
• Oversee virtualization environments, including VMware, to ensure reliable and cost-effective compute resources.
• Drive automation and process improvements to streamline IT operations and reduce manual effort.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex support issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.
• Partner with scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate research and operational needs into technical solutions.
• Maintain strong security practices, including identity and access management, endpoint controls, and incident response readiness.
• Document systems, processes, and standards to support scalability, compliance, and knowledge sharing across the team.

About You:

• BS or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, IT Administrator, or similar technical role
• Proven expertise managing SaaS platforms such as Microsoft 365, Okta, Slack, and other business-critical applications
• Hands-on experience with networking and security technologies (e.g., Fortigate, Meraki) and on-premises and cloud infrastructures (AWS, VMware)
• Strong understanding of identity and access management, security best practices, and compliance requirements
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with experience serving as an escalation point for complex issues
• Adept at project execution—able to translate business needs into technical solutions that drive measurable results
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across technical and non-technical teams
• Analytical and process-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset and a focus on automation where possible
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is comfortable balancing strategic projects with hands-on problem-solving

$135,000 - $155,000 a year. Rate offered will be based on experience.
