The Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IME), part of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark, offers a part-time position (01.11.2025 – 31.10.2027) as a Drone Pilot Student Helper for Drone Mechatronics team, in direct correlation with existing drone activities.
The Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is located in the inspiring building of Alsion that is place of residence for a number of enterprises in the Science Park: South Jutland Symphony Orchestra and the concert hall of Alsion. Thus, the university has close bonds to the industrial as well as the cultural environment of Sønderborg.
In line with a new strategic track of the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the institute is seeking to expand its activities related to drone operations in selected defense related applications carried out by the Drone Mechatronics team. Therefore we are looking for a student with experience and skills in piloting and carrying drone operations.
Alongside a drone pilot certificate and a solid proven experience operating drones, the employee is expected to have insight into building and prototyping various types of drones. As the drone activities do not relate to a single application, knowledge of adjacent areas of expertise becomes essential in such a broad engineering landscape.

Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and SUL (National Union for Student Teachers in Government Service).
