Senior Occupational Therapist - Chronic And Complex Care

Role type: Permanent Part-time (20 Hours Per Week)

Role grade: Grade 3

Department and location: Chronic and Complex Care Services, St Vincent's Hospital, Darlinghurst

Salary: $112,396 - $116,038 p.a. + Super + Salary packaging

About the role

  • Provide advanced Occupational Therapy services to patients in Community Palliative Care and Heart Lung Chronic Care, using evidence-based assessments and interventions tailored to individual needs.

  • Manage complex clinical presentations independently, applying advanced clinical reasoning and adapting practice to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

  • Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives and service evaluations to enhance Occupational Therapy practice within Community Palliative Care and Heart Lung Chronic Care.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including service managers and key stakeholders, to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care aligned with current models and best practice.

  • Provide specialist advice and mentorship to Occupational Therapists across the service and wider networks, supporting professional development and service excellence.

About you

  • You're an AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist with a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy, bringing specialist clinical expertise and extensive experience in Palliative Care, Haematology/Oncology, Motor Neuron Disease, COPD, Transplant, or other life-limiting conditions.

  • Skilled in providing clinical supervision to Occupational Therapists, students, and support staff, fostering professional growth and a positive team culture.

  • A confident clinical manager experienced in service planning and leading quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.

  • Actively involved in teaching, consultation, and multidisciplinary collaboration, with well-developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Committed to the Philosophy, Mission, and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia, holding a current unrestricted NSW Class C Driver's License.
