Clinical Support Analyst II
This is a hybrid position based at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN, with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday. Supervision received is from the Director of IT Ambulatory Applications and the Director of IT Clinics and Practices.
Job Summary:
The Clinical Support Analyst will be responsible for configuring and managing the ASC and Clinical applications used by Surgery Partners entities. This role will be responsible for system configuration, optimizing business workflow, vendor interaction, issue resolution, system data management, reporting, and additional tasks as needed. The position combines system support and business system analysis, possibly user training. It covers applications ranging from EMR/EHR, Practice Management/Patient Accounting, Supply/Materials Management, Provider Credentialing to Managed Care Contracts, and any supporting applications needed for the Tier-1 systems within ASCs.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to troubleshoot application issues. Troubleshoot errors within the system identified by end users and resolve them within application configuration or work with the application developer (vendor or in-house) to fix them.
- Ability to configure the system to support application and business workflow to meet business/operational needs.
- Ability to resolve tickets and keep IT ticket tracking application updated.
- Ability to evaluate/modify/build templates within the business application.
- Ability to work with end users to understand their business requirements for the system application to optimize its use.
- Ability to work with remote users on multiple sites.
- Ability to work with vendors of applications supported.
- Working knowledge of the complete SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), including analysis, design, configuration, and testing of applications.
- Test and deploy application configurations and solutions from development to production environments.
- Experience creating and maintaining business requirements, technical documentation, test plans, and deployment plans.
- Assist users in the design/modification of reports to meet business needs.
Basic Surgery Partners Performance Criteria:

- Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Reasonably knowledgeable of compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste, and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Education/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. A bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems preferrable focused on application development/support field or health data.
- 5+ years of experience supporting an EHR system or EMR system.
- 1+ years of business analysis experience.
- Clinical informatics, RN or equivalent clinical experience in ambulatory, hospital, or physician practices is strongly preferred.
- Work experience in an IT ticket system to track application issues is preferred.
- Ambulatory applications competencies on HST, Nextech, NextGen Ambulatory, AthenaHealth, AdvantX, AllScripts, eClinicalWorks, Meditech Ambulatory is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to promote the customer's experience.
- Ability to solve problems with good judgment and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.

- Has attained prior healthcare experience with hospitals, surgery centers, or physician offices.

- Ability to work with minimal supervision to accomplish the task.
- Ability to manage frequent interruptions resulting in priorities re-evaluation.
