Senior Network Engineer
The primary goal of the Senior Network Engineer is to ensure the smooth operation of the Superloop network to provide maximum performance and availability to all customers. The Network Engineer is responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining all devices and services within Superloop's global network.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing of Superloop's optical network infrastructure.
- Proactively monitoring optical network performance.
- Troubleshooting network faults, resolving escalated optical network issues.
- Adhering to all network security standards.
- Managing and maintaining optical network documentation and inventory.
- Collaborating with other business units where required.
- Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
- Adhering to all company policies.
Qualifications and experience required include:
- Highly experienced and detail-oriented optical network engineer with a strong background in designing, implementing, and operating carrier-grade optical transport networks.
- Deep knowledge of long-haul, metro, and subsea transmission systems, and a strong track record in troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
- Comfortable with vendor platforms such as Ciena, Cisco and PacketLight, and can interpret link budgets, optical power levels, and OSNR thresholds.
- Scripting or automation experience and understanding of building scalable, reliable, and observable networks.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, operations and maintenance of Coherent Muxponders, Fixed grid multiplexers, ROADM's, Optical Protection switches, EDFA line amplifiers and submarine Line Terminal Equipment.
