Travelling Field Service Technician

We are seeking an experienced travelling Field Service Technician for a long-term, direct hire opportunity in the New England area (CT, ME, MA, NH, RI & VT). PAY: $25-27/h and $25-27/h for travelling time. Lodging and airplane tickets are paid for. PER DIEM: $75.00 per day worked. OVERTIME OPPORTUNITY! HOURS: 7:00 am-3:30 pm (Mon to Friday). Benefits: Medical, vision, and dental insurance.

Overview

Field Service Technician will support the installation, maintenance, and commissioning for gas detection equipment.

Responsibilities for Field Service Technician

• On-site Technical Services, covering equipment installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning.
• Installing electrical devices/gas detecting equipment
• Running and pulling wire
• Some termination and wire labeling for devices
• Troubleshooting gas detection equipment
• Review construction blueprints and work with Customers, Architects, and Installers to ensure systems are installed properly.
• Professionally communicate project and service work status with Customer's Project Managers, Port Engineers, Contractors, and Consultants as directed.

Qualifications for Field Service Technician

• 3+ years of experience in electrical or electronic assembly.
• Occasional exposure to; heat/cold, noise, dust, dirt, and fumes
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs.
• The ability to work at heights on ladders, scissor lifts or roof tops.
• Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, hear, and see, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, climb stairs and ladders.
• Technical aptitude, electronics troubleshooting ability.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Familiar with FTP, IP protocols, serial communications, and microcontrollers
• Effective communications skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently to diagnose and solve problems.

Education and Experience Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of mechanical, electrical, or electronic experience.
• Minimum 1 year field experience as a service technician.

Preferred Requirements

• Associate degree in electronics or a related technical field OR equivalent military training.
• HVAC/R experience.

Experience with Military Service

• Electronic Technician, Electrician diploma/certification or Refrigeration Experience

Additional Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site, willing to travel.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
