Network Service Owner & Tier 3 Technical Resource

We are seeking a Network Service Owner & Tier 3 Technical Resource who will be responsible for the comprehensive management and technical leadership of our private LTE network services, with a primary focus on Nokia core technologies. This role combines service ownership—ensuring reliability, optimal performance, and ongoing improvement—with expert-level troubleshooting and support for complex network issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8 years of experience in network operations, with 5 years supporting 4G/5G cellular networks including Nokia core (CMU) and Nokia IP-MPLS networks
  • Deep understanding of LTE architecture, protocols, and Nokia core components
  • Proven experience in Tier 3 technical support and service ownership
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience with network monitoring, incident management, and change control processes

Responsibilities:

  • Service Ownership:
    • Act as the primary owner for assigned network services, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction
    • Define, document, and maintain service-level agreements (SLAs), operational processes, and best practices for private LTE services
    • Lead service reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Tier 3 Technical Support:
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for complex network issues, particularly those involving Nokia core components (e.g., MME, HSS, SGW, PGW)
    • Collaborate with Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams to resolve escalated incidents and problems
    • Interface with Nokia support and other vendors for critical issue resolution and software upgrades
  • Network Operations:
    • Oversee daily operations of the private LTE network, including monitoring, incident response, and change management
    • Analyze network performance data and proactively address potential issues
  • Project Leadership:
    • Lead or support network projects, including new service rollouts, upgrades, and migrations and coordinate with cross-functional team to ensure successful project delivery
  • Documentation & Training:
    • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles and provide training and mentorship to team members

Location & Other Key Details:

  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Occasional travel is required
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Occasional on call support after hours will be required
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines and the pay band will generally be based on years of experience and scope of work
