Network Analyst – Field Systems

Are you ready to be on the front lines of Suncor's digital connectivity transformation? As a Network Analyst – Field Systems, you'll play a critical role in supporting the health and performance of our private LTE (pLTE) and field network infrastructure across mining operations. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, operational environments. Network Analyst is responsible for real-time monitoring, triage, and resolution of incidents across Suncor's pLTE and field systems networks.

The Network Analyst is responsible for real-time monitoring, triage, and resolution of incidents across Suncor's pLTE and field systems networks. Working within the Field Systems team, you will ensure reliable connectivity for mission-critical systems including autonomous haulage, safety systems, and mobile field operations. You will collaborate with senior analysts, vendors, and site teams to maintain high availability and performance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in network operations or IT support.
  • Familiarity with LTE, Wi-Fi, and wired network technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Ability to work in a shift-based or rotational support model.
  • Knowledge of NetBox, Nokia RAN, or industrial network architecture.
  • Experience in mining, energy, or other industrial environments.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes and incident management workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor network health across UE (User Equipment), RAN (eNodeB/gNodeB), transport, core, and security layers.
  • Perform triage and prioritization of incidents, events, and service requests.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to senior analysts or vendors as needed.
  • Conduct daily health checks and trend analysis to proactively identify issues.
  • Support lifecycle monitoring, firmware patching, and upgrade planning.
  • Maintain documentation and update NetBox with configuration changes.
  • Open and manage tickets with managed service providers (e.g., TELUS, Esyey) per Joint Operating Procedures.
  • Manage ServiceNow (SNOW) queue, and create/assign tickets as required.

Location and Other Key Detail:

  • Shift-based or rotational schedule, including on-call support as required.
  • You will be working out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake site, Fort McMurray.
