St Vincent's Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) is a facility of St Vincent's Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not-for-profit Catholic private hospital operating across four sites: Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew, and Werribee.

At our Fitzroy site, our Day Infusion Services deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients undergoing oncology and haematology treatments. With specialist medical suites co-located on-site, our team provides seamless and personalised care in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Ward Clerk to join our Day Infusion Services team. This dynamic role provides front-line support to both our Day Oncology Unit and co-located Oncology and Haematology consulting suites.

As the first point of contact for many of our patients, you'll play a vital role in creating a welcoming and reassuring environment while providing high-level administrative and clerical support to both clinical and medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient bookings using MOSAIQ, ensuring protocol compliance
  • Conduct pre-admissions and health fund eligibility checks via IBA
  • Prepare and distribute pre-admission paperwork and education packs
  • Liaise with pharmacy for chemotherapy drug verification
  • Coordinate tests and scans for patients
  • Process admissions and discharges using IBA
  • Support the broader nursing and medical team with reception and general administrative duties

Requirements

  • Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a compassionate, patient-focused approach
  • High attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
  • Proficiency in MOSAIQ, IBA, and deLacy systems (desirable)
  • Experience in oncology/infusion or specialist rooms (desirable)
  • Commitment to infection control and patient safety protocols
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
