Marketing Manager
Lead on the positioning and promotion of Study Group products that meet the needs of international students, help differentiate SG from competitors, grow awareness of the Study Group brand in market and drive student recruitment.
Develop a profound understanding of the agents - their needs and wants - to further build highly engaging and regional touchpoints, as well as monitor overall agent satisfaction globally. Further building business cases on the business opportunities and driving them.
The role will achieve revenue and profit goals by leading and directing the marketing and communication of the Study Group product portfolio to agents and direct customers in SA region.
This role will be a key member of the Customer Marketing team and contribute to the building of solutions to achieve student recruitment targets and growth plans. It will require autonomous decision-making in partnership with key stakeholder (e.g. Area Directors), empowering the role holder to become a crucial asset for the company.
About The Role
- Lead the development and execution of the regional marketing strategy to promote a portfolio of products, driving student recruitment, brand awareness, and revenue growth. Identify and leverage local market opportunities to deliver measurable business impact.
- Partner closely with global and regional teams to build a deep understanding of Study Group's value propositions, pricing, and messaging strategy, ensuring consistent positioning across all markets.
- Using market and customer insights, design and implement integrated online and offline campaigns (B2B and B2C) that drive awareness, engagement, and demand generation. Ensure marketing activities create a compelling and high-quality customer experience that builds preference for Study Group products.
- Work collaboratively with Sales to align on field marketing initiatives that maximise student recruitment outcomes and support conversion at every stage of the funnel.
- Develop effective relationships and communication channels with key internal stakeholders, ensuring a continuous feedback loop that informs strategy and execution.
- Monitor, measure, and report on campaign performance and ROI, optimizing budgets to maximise effectiveness and demonstrating clear links between marketing activity and business results.
- Foster a culture grounded in accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and inclusion, encouraging innovation and shared ownership of results.
- Engage teams in collaborative problem-solving to develop and refine marketing plans and address challenges effectively.
- Ensure management frameworks, processes, and tools are in place to build capability, enhance efficiency, and support professional development within the team.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team contributions that drive Study Group's success, promoting a culture of achievement and engagement.
About You
- Experienced international marketing professional with demonstrable success working with teams across an organisation.
- A commercially savvy marketer with a proven track record in leading the marketing and communication of high-value products or services with a long sales cycle in a global marketplace.
- Strong ability to plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns — both online and offline — to drive brand awareness, engagement, and demand generation.
- Knowledge and understanding of the international student marketplace and the challenges within the education sector is an advantage.
- An understanding of the international business environment and the complexities of operating across multiple territories and cultures.
- Experience working in a multi-channel and matrix organisation, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience in event marketing, lead generation, and campaign performance analysis to inform future strategy, combined with digital marketing expertise including campaign conceptualisation and development, creative thinking, and a strong understanding of current trends across major social platforms.
- Data-driven approach with the ability to interpret insights and optimise marketing activity for measurable impact.
- Excellent oral communication skills, personal credibility, and gravitas to operate confidently among senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Highly organised and adaptable, able to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
