We are looking for a Senior Staff Project Engineer to join the Advanced Operations team and support the Upper Extremities division. You will lead initiatives for introducing new products and industrializing innovative implantable medical devices.

You will define the technical strategy and coordinate the execution of engineering activities, from implementing new manufacturing technologies to validation and ramp-up in production, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a highly regulated environment.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead complex projects for introducing new products, respecting the objectives of scope, timelines, costs, and quality.
  • Direct the introduction of advanced manufacturing technologies and industrial equipment (design, supplier alignment, commissioning, preparation for validation).
  • Be the main technical interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and align priorities within the Upper Extremities project portfolio.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage technical, scheduling, and regulatory risks, relying on data to guide decisions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (R&D, production, quality, procurement, infrastructure, finance, regulatory affairs) to ensure project success.
  • Build and maintain technical plans and deliverables through project management tools to ensure visibility, accountability, and on-ground execution follow-up.
  • Provide technical leadership, expertise, and mentorship to the engineering team; become a reference for Upper Extremities innovation and continuous improvement.

What You Need:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in engineering, product development, or industrial environment.
  • Experience in leading projects for introducing new products or product transfers in pharmaceutical or medical device industries.
  • Knowledge of special processes applicable to implantable medical devices (cleaning, sterilization…) and associated validations (ISO 11135 / ISO 11137, ISO 19227…).
  • Good understanding of quality systems and risk management in a regulated environment.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (medical devices or pharmaceutical) and knowledge of associated standards; experience in introducing manufacturing technologies or industrial equipment in production is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (welding, coatings, anodization, etc.) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience in CAD (Creo) is an asset.
  • Fluent English required: writing technical documentation, meetings, and interactions with external partners.
